Present The 8th Annual Great American Jeep Rally
Jeep enthusiasts have been traveling from all over the northeast to show their appreciation for Jeeps of all kinds – military, antique, new and old, stock to heavily modified. We offer hourly raffles and trophy awards for street, beater, military, antique, off-road, and others. In addition, attendees may test their Jeep’s articulation on one of the RTI Ramps and play in the Rock Garden just to name a few of the events the entire family will enjoy throughout the day. Food vendors, vendors selling Jeep ware, local organized wheeling clubs, and a TreadLightly! informational booth will also be readily available.
The mission of the Rally is to raise money for charity and continue its efforts in supporting the Northeast Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs (”NEA4WDC”). In addition to the NEA4WDC, the 2009 Rally proceeds will go to support the Educational Resources for Children, Inc. in Enfield, CT and The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department in Ellington, CT.
The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department incorporates donations made to the department into a variety of programs including public education, fire prevention, and purchasing miscellaneous equipment and tools. Donations come from a variety of sources including individuals, corporations, and federal and state grant programs. Over the past several years the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department has purchased public fire safety educational materials, a live burn trailer, a electric fire truck robot, and children’s coloring books and school supplies.
Educational Resources for Children, Inc. teams with kids, communities, schools, and families to grow resilient kids. Through innovative community collaborations, they help kids learn, reach their goals, and contribute to their communities.
The NEA4WDC was established in 2001 and currently has twenty-two member clubs with a combined membership of over 3,000. Its mission is to protect and promote environmentally responsible Off-Highway Vehicle recreation, while maintaining a harmonious relationship between OHV enthusiasts and landowners. To support and educate Local, State and National agencies in the preservation of OHV recreation.
The member clubs in the NEA4WDC have been enjoying Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation on permission granted land over the last several years. These clubs and others like them have removed tons of illegally dumped garbage from our natural areas. Our members practice the principles of Tread Lightly!®, respect private property and always leave with more than we go in with.
Please join us on Sunday, September 27th at the Four Town Fairgrounds, located in Somers, CT from 9AM to 4PM. For more information, please contact us.
