Will 9 AM be the time the gates open??

An why does that time need be??

The reason I ask is it seems everything is going on at once and an earlier time to get in and parked would be nice.

Last year there was a traffic mess at 9 with everyone trying to get in the gate from all directions, (the lots across the street and both direction on the fair road.

There has been a discussion as far as when the Rally starts and also when we open the gate and a couple of points come up from it. One if we tell people we are going to open the gates sooner people will just plan on being at the fairgrounds sooner as well so all we will be doing is changing when the road gets backed up and not if it gets backed up. The other issues is some of our vendors and clubs will be coming in late Saturday and early Sunday morning to set up their booths so to have the Rally start sooner will just put extra pressure on them. I know of a couple of vendors that will be leaving one event Saturday evening to be at the Rally Sunday morning there are also some clubs that are coming from a distance away so to force them to spend a night would not be fair. So to request all vendors / clubs be set up by Saturday would be difficult.

We do have a new parking area this year so that should help get people off the road and parked faster than last year.

8am should be the latest. as early as possible is ideal. I'll be awake God willing by 5am. Smiley

Keep in mind that we are allowing people to park at 8:30 so traffic will already start to be backing up a little before that.
